What Sold, What Flopped, and Why One Lady Threw My Business Card
Market on Mill | Inman, SC
Another weekend, another market — this time at the Market on Mill in Inman, SC. The location itself was super cute, and things were fairly well organized... minus the load-in instructions, which felt like a chaotic scavenger hunt written in all caps. 🙃
It was HOT. Like, sweat-dripping-off-your-back hot. There was a decent crowd flowing through, but for whatever reason, not many people wandered into my booth. The setup was my usual — stickers front and center, flannels hanging, signs on point — but it just didn’t pull folks in like it normally does.
That said, stickers were the clear winner. People might not have been ready to commit to a tote bag or framed art, but a $4 sticker? Easy yes. Especially if it was sarcastic or mildly offensive. My kinda crowd... mostly.
Oh — and shoutout to the customer who complimented my stuff for a solid five minutes, picked up a design she disagreed with, then dramatically tossed both it and my business card onto the checkout table and walked away. 💅 Good thing it’s my booth, right?
Vendor mix was alright. A lot of 3D-printed items floating around. I didn’t do much mingling, and honestly, I don’t even remember who was set up next to me (sorry, neighbor). Between the weird load-in and impossible parking, this one might be a one-and-done for me.
So What’s Next?
I’m working on something new — digital files for other vendors and small biz owners. Think:
- ✨ Market checklists
- ✨ Booth signage
- ✨ Planners & inventory trackers
- ✨ And maybe a few unhinged printable extras
Not totally sure where it’ll land yet, but if you vend, hustle, or love a good organizational tool with personality, keep an eye out. First drops are coming soon.
Inside, you’ll find:
- 🧠 Business strategy & branding worksheets
- 📈 Expense, income & sales trackers
- 📅 Monthly and weekly calendars
- 📊 Social media planners & analytics trackers
- 💡 Project planning + content checklist pages
This will be part of a new collection of digital downloads made specifically for makers, misfits, and indie vendors who want a little less chaos and a lot more control.
Coming soon to the digital section of the shop — stay tuned!
Want to keep up with these? I’ll be posting recaps, product features, small biz chaos, and tips from the trenches every couple of weeks right here.
